Acid 303-Style Bass
Sounds like: Squelchy, snarling bassline where the filter chirps open on every accented note.
Sound type: bass · Genre: Acid House, Techno · Style: TB-303 acid bass sequences
A squelchy, resonant filter-sweep bass built for long sequenced runs — the character comes from a fast filter envelope chasing high resonance, distorting as it opens on accented steps.

FX page
Digitone II's WAVETONE machine (select with FUNC+SYN). WAV1 is a real saw from the PRIM table with LEV2 at 0 and MOD OFF, so this is a real oscillator wave, not an FM stand-in. P-lock FLTR page's FREQ and RESO per step (TRIG-hold + the encoders in Grid Recording) for the classic acid movement — a static setting undersells this patch.

AMP PAGE 2
SY RAW's plain saw plus FLTR PAGE 1's fast Decay and high Resonance gives the same squelchy movement — Syntakt's analog-style filter overdrives naturally at this Resonance, standing in for a dedicated drive. AMP PAGE 2's MODE must be set to ADSR (the default for SY machines, but drum machines default to AHD), or SUS/REL on AMP PAGE 1 are ignored. P-lock FREQ per step for the acid runs since melodic Syntakt tracks have no true mod matrix either.

EFFECTS
Summit's filter can self-oscillate near max Resonance for an even more aggressive acid tone. FILTER's SOURCE is routed to Mod Envelope 1 (not the Amp Envelope) to keep the fast, note-independent squelch separate from the Amp Envelope's own shape. Live control: the Mod Wheel opens resonance through Mod Matrix slot 1; ride the panel Env Depth knob by hand for the sweep amount.

Osc 1 is BasicWaves with Morph at 50 (pure sawtooth): the Morph knob runs from a square (0) through a sawtooth (50) to a double sawtooth an octave up (100), Sym only changes the pulse width below 50, and Sub adds a sine an octave down (0 here). Mod Matrix: the Velo/AT row to the Cutoff column at +30. Macros: M1: Resonance; M2: Filter ENV/VELO. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.

The 8 FRONT PANEL knobs are physically unmarked, so RESON/CUTOFF/EG LEVEL above are clock positions, not percentages — push RESON further clockwise for genuine self-oscillation. M1/M2/M3 are left unused; ride CUTOFF live for accents beyond what the Filter ADSR provides.
Compared with other synths: FX1's built-in Hard Clipping stands in for the overdrive used on the other synths.

Macros
- Macro 1: Filter 1 Resonance
- Macro 2: Filter 1 Env 1 Amount
Envelope 1 is pre-wired to Filter 1 (its ENV 1 AMOUNT knob decides how much reaches Cutoff) and Envelope 2 is pre-wired to Amp, so no Mod Matrix routing is needed for either. Macros 1-2 here are real performance Macros, not the Mutator oscillator-shaping modules — those are a separate part of the synth and aren't used by this patch.
How the synths compare
Resonance and filter-envelope amount are pushed unusually high on purpose — that's the entire acid character. Back them off for a tamer, more conventional filtered bass. Digitone II uses WAVETONE's real saw.
