Sounds like: A warm, punchy pad that swells in like a distant brass section.
A punchy, mid-forward pad with a quick filter-open on the attack, evoking a brass section without literally imitating one — warmer and more present than the ambient pads elsewhere in the library.
Open this patch in the interactive PatchpadDigitone II's ALGO 3 gives three plain carriers (C, B2, B1) when the FM depth of A and B is off, so LEV (A) and LEV (B) are both 0. MIX -64 selects the X tap (C + B2), and DTUN, which offsets only the ratio of operators A and B2, detunes B2 against C so the two beat against each other. DTUN below 64 is a very slight detune; above 64 is heavier. The filter's own ADSR (FLTR page 1) does the brassy work: a quick ATK plus a strong positive ENV amount gives the fast filter-open-on-attack that reads as brass, separate from the AMP page's own envelope which just shapes loudness. AMP page MODE must be set to ADSR for SUS to actually hold.
SY RAW (plain dual real-waveform machine, no built-in animation) fits this better than the shimmering SY SWARM -- WAV1/WAV2 both set to Saw with DET detuning the second oscillator against the first gives the '2 detuned carriers' idea directly. The strong ENV amount on FLTR PAGE 1 plus a quick ATK is what produces the brassy filter-snap. AMP PAGE 2's MODE must be ADSR (the default for SY machines, but drum machines default to AHD), or SUS/REL on AMP PAGE 1 are ignored.
Oscillator 2's FINE knob is detuned sharp of Oscillator 1 for the 'two detuned carriers' thickness. FILTER's SOURCE + ENV DEPTH route the Amp Envelope into the filter cutoff -- one envelope's quick attack and strong depth are doing all of the brassy filter-open here.
Osc 1 and Osc 2 are BasicWaves with Morph at 50 (pure sawtooth): the Morph knob runs from a square (0) through a sawtooth (50) to a double sawtooth an octave up (100), Sym only changes the pulse width below 50, and Sub adds a sine an octave down (0 here). Osc 2 is detuned a few cents sharp of Osc 1 via its TUNE/OCT fine-tune for the 'two detuned carriers' thickness. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.
The WAVE knob's labeled square+saw position is a bright, buzzy VCO1/VCO2 blend, with TUNE 2 nudged sharp for a detuned-pair feel. EG LEVEL pushed high plus both FILTER TIME and AMP TIME set toward the fast end give the quick filter-open-on-attack that reads as brass -- Typhon's front-panel knobs are physically unmarked, so those values are described by clock position, not a percentage.
Oscillator 1 and 2 are both plain real Saw waveforms in Single mode, Osc 2 detuned +15 cents for the 'two detuned carriers' idea -- Osc 3 is real hardware but left at 0 level, unused rather than absent. Filter 1's LP Fat12 (compensated 12dB ladder) is chosen over the plain LP Ldr12 because it holds its low end together as resonance rises, keeping the sound punchy rather than thinning out. ENV 1 AMOUNT pushed strongly positive plus Envelope 2's quick Attack is what gives the brass-like filter-snap on the attack.
The quick attack (not instant, not slow) and strong filter-envelope snap are what give this a brass-like quality without an actual brass model.
