Breakbeat Stab Lead
Sounds like: A short, punchy chord-like stab that snaps shut, for punctuating breakbeats.
Sound type: lead · Genre: Breakbeat / Jungle · Style: short percussive melodic stab used to punctuate a breakbeat arrangement
A short, punchy melodic stab with a fast filter close — sits alongside a chopped breakbeat as a rhythmic-melodic accent rather than a sustained line.

FDBK 44 on the plain ALGO 1 carrier gives the bright, slightly aggressive edge the stab wants without a full FM stack. FLTR's fast DEC and zero SUS on both FLTR and AMP give the percussive close -- set the pattern's delay time/sync to a swung 1/8 division at the track level (Digitone II's delay send here is DEL, the sync/time itself lives on the pattern-wide Delay page) so it locks to the breakbeat's own swing. FDBK acts on operator A in ALGO 1, so LEV (A) is raised to 50 on SYN page 2 to let the feedback colour carrier C; LEV (B) stays 0 and MIX -64 selects the C output only.

AMP PAGE 2's MODE can stay as it is here since SUS is 0 anyway -- there's no sustain phase to lose. Set the pattern-level Delay's time/sync to a swung 1/8 to reinforce the breakbeat groove alongside the stab.

FILTER's SOURCE routes Mod Env 1 (rather than the Amp Envelope) into the cutoff, giving the filter its own fast, independent close.
Compared with other synths: DELAY SYNC's dotted-8th division ('8th D.') gives the swung feel described on the other synths.

Osc 1 is SawX: Wave is SawMod, Timbre is the chorus Shape and Shape is the Noise. ENV/VELO on the Filter (55) is what produces the fast close -- MiniFreak's single Envelope, hardwired to the VCA, does both jobs at once, so amp and filter snap shut together. 0-100 scale throughout. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.

AMP ADSR

Zero SUSTAIN on both ADSRs is what gives the short, punchy stab -- the note dies as soon as DECAY finishes regardless of how long the key is held. Typhon's front-panel knobs are physically unmarked, so those values are clock positions, not percentages.

Envelope 1 (pre-wired to Filter 1) and Envelope 2 (pre-wired to Amp) both run zero Sustain for the percussive close/decay -- they're independent real modules, so tuning each separately is what gets the filter and amp snapping together here rather than one shared envelope.
How the synths compare
Close relative of Garage Chord Stab Pluck but single-note and pitched as a lead — simpler to translate since it doesn't require polyphony.
