Bright Arp Pluck

Sounds like: A very short, bright tick of a note, built so fast arpeggios stay crisp.

Sound type: pluck · Genre: Techno, House · Style: high-energy pluck voiced specifically for fast arpeggiator patterns

A bright, very short, consistent pluck built specifically for fast arpeggio runs — every note must decay fast and evenly so a rapid arpeggiator pattern stays articulate rather than smearing together.

Every value here is chosen to keep the note shorter than the arpeggiator's own note spacing -- Decay/Release both sit at the low end of their range. Push DEC lower still if a faster arp tempo starts to smear notes together. The 1/16 Delay send is deliberately light so it doesn't itself blur the articulate rhythm it's decorating. ALGO 1 routes operator A (and B) into carrier C, so LEV (A) and LEV (B) are set to 0 on SYN page 2 and MIX is -64 (the X output, C only): that leaves C a plain, unmodulated carrier.

Enable Syntakt's own arpeggiator on this track if you want it to generate the fast pattern itself, rather than sequencing the notes by hand. AMP PAGE 1's SUS sits at 0 so either amp mode works.

EFFECTS

Summit's own onboard Arpeggiator can drive this directly (see the ARPEGGIATOR section on the panel) if you don't want to sequence it externally. The light synced Delay adds rhythmic interest without smearing the fast, articulate decay this patch depends on.

DIGITAL EFFECTS · FX1

Osc 1 is BasicWaves with Morph at 50 (pure sawtooth): the Morph knob runs from a square (0) through a sawtooth (50) to a double sawtooth an octave up (100), Sym only changes the pulse width below 50, and Sub adds a sine an octave down (0 here). Real onboard Delay (Digital Effects) supplies the light 1/16 echo -- unlike the wrong synth this entry used to describe, MiniFreak has genuine onboard effects. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.

Compared with other synths: Decay (15 on the 0-100 scale) must stay shorter than the arpeggiator's note spacing at whatever tempo it's run, the same requirement as every other synth in this patch family.

FILTER ADSR

AMP ADSR

Typhon has no arpeggiator, but its note sequencer (SQNCR button) can play a fast programmed pattern, or an external arp or sequencer can drive it. Keep AMP ADSR's DECAY short: it must stay shorter than the note spacing at the tempo you're running, or notes overlap and blur.

ENVELOPE 2

DELAY

Hydrasynth's own Arpeggiator (a real dedicated feature on this synth) can generate the fast pattern directly. Both envelopes stay short so the note decays well before the next arp step lands -- lengthen Envelope 2's DECAY only if the arp tempo is slow enough to afford it.

How the synths compare

The decay time is the critical parameter — it must stay shorter than the arpeggiator's note spacing at the tempo you're using, or notes will overlap and blur.
