Sounds like: A wide, chorused chord that pulses rhythmically rather than washing together.
A wide, chorused chord pulsing rhythmically through the arpeggiator: two detuned voices per note give width and movement, while a moderate gate keeps the pulse rhythmically defined rather than smearing into a wash.
Open this patch in the interactive PatchpadHold a wide chord (root, fifth, octave) so RANGE 2 has real material to spread across. ALGO 3 with DTUN 10 detunes carrier B against carrier C (the same mechanism Reese Bass uses), giving each arpeggiated note its own built-in beating width rather than a single clean oscillator. N.LEN 70 lets consecutive notes overlap slightly for a pulsing rather than staccato feel. ALGO 3 routes A and B into C, so LEV (A) and LEV (B) are set to 0 on SYN page 2 and MIX is -64 (the X output, C only).
Syntakt has no general per-track arpeggiator, so SY CHIP on Track A supplies the arpeggio (OF2/OF3 build the root-fifth-octave shape); for the detune width, layer a second track (SY RAW, Track B) tuned a handful of units sharp and set it to play the same notes as Track A. This is an honest two-layer approximation, not a single-voice equivalent of the arp-plus-detune combination the other synths give natively.
Hold a wide chord (root, fifth, octave) so Octaves 2 has real material to spread across. Two real oscillators detuned against each other (Osc 2's FINE +16 cents against Osc 1) beat naturally, giving every arpeggiated note its own width. Gate 80 keeps notes overlapping enough to pulse rather than sitting as short discrete hits.
Hold a wide chord (root, fifth, octave) so Octave Range 2 has real material to spread across. Osc 1 and Osc 2 are both BasicWaves pure sawtooth; detune Osc 2 a few cents sharp of Osc 1 in the global Tune/Detune section for the beating width, rather than trying to fake it from one oscillator. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.
Typhon has no arpeggiator, but it has a real note sequencer (SQNCR button: 1 to 32 steps over a 6-octave range, with per-step octave, note, gate, velocity, plus probability, division and swing). Typhon's own two VCOs (WAVE knob blending VCO1/VCO2, TUNE 2 detuning VCO2 sharp of VCO1) give the same beating width mechanism used elsewhere in this library, so the detune here is genuine, only the sequencing is a hand-programmed substitute. The Filter and Amp ADSR shape each note.
Hold a wide chord (root, fifth, octave) so Octave 2 has real material to spread across. Two true independent oscillators: Osc 2's CENTS +16 against Osc 1 gives the beating width on every arpeggiated note, the same mechanism as the other real-oscillator synths here.
