Sounds like: A harsh, distorted lead that cuts through a dense techno mix.
A hard, saturated lead that fights for attention on purpose — narrow enough to cut through a dense techno arrangement, driven hard enough to add real harmonic aggression.
Open this patch in the interactive PatchpadALGO 1 keeps Operator C a single plain carrier -- FDBK pushed high (70) adds harmonic edge before the FX page's Overdrive even engages. FLTR's ENV depth plus a fast DEC/low SUS give the filter its own quick snap on every note, separate from the AMP page's amplitude envelope. FX page DEL sends into the pattern-level Delay -- set that effect's own time to a 1/16 division for the rhythmic drive this patch wants. FDBK acts on operator A in ALGO 1, so LEV (A) is raised to 50 on SYN page 2 to let the feedback colour carrier C; LEV (B) stays 0 and MIX -64 selects the C output only.
SY RAW with WAV1 set to Square (rather than Saw) gives a narrower, more nasal core that cuts through a dense mix -- LEV2 muted keeps it a single voice. SY RAW's own OVER parameter is pushed hard for machine-level saturation on top of FLTR's snap. Melodic tracks 1-8 use Digital machines, not Analog. AMP PAGE 2's MODE must be ADSR (the default for SY machines, but drum machines default to AHD), or SUS on AMP PAGE 1 is ignored.
24dB slope narrows the sound further to help it cut through a dense arrangement. FILTER's SOURCE routes to Mod Env 1 rather than the Amp Envelope so the filter gets its own fast snap independent of the amplitude shape -- this is the real mechanism for that behavior. Distortion LEVEL pushed to maximum for the saturated edge.
Osc 1 is BasicWaves with Morph at 0 (square): the Morph knob runs from a square (0) through a sawtooth (50) to a double sawtooth an octave up (100), Sym only changes the pulse width below 50, and Sub adds a sine an octave down (0 here). MiniFreak's Digital Effects include a real onboard Distortion type -- no need to approximate drive through the filter alone. 0-100 scale throughout. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.
FX1 is a real onboard distortion/bit-crusher slot (plus a post-VCA HPF) -- Hard Clipping with GAIN and LVL both fairly high gives genuine onboard saturation. Front-panel knobs are physically unmarked, so those values are clock positions, not percentages; FILTER ADSR/AMP ADSR use the same 0-100 convention as the rest of the OLED page system. M1/M2/M3 are left unused since this patch doesn't need a modulator slot.
A Pulse-group waveform (Pulse 1 here; audition Pulse 1-6 for the narrowest) gives a nasal core well-suited to cutting through a dense mix. Filter 1's LP Ldr24 is a real 24dB resonant ladder for a focused low end. Envelope 1 is pre-wired to Filter 1 (the fast snap) and Envelope 2 to the Amp -- independent real modules, not one shared envelope. Pre-FX's Distort type is genuine onboard saturation, pushed hard via DRIVE and run fully wet.
Close relative of Growl Bass and Distorted Techno Bass, transposed into lead register — the same 'push distortion hard' philosophy applies.
