Sound type: fx · Genre: Techno, House · Style: classic pitch-rising sweep used to build tension into a transition

Corrected: the original ran an LFO into a 'Pitch' destination that Digitone II's FM TONE machine doesn't have (its LFO destination list has only SYN data-entry knobs, FILTER, AMP and FX). A smooth multi-octave rise needs a machine with a tuning knob, so this uses WAVETONE, whose TUN1/TUN2 (in cents) are valid LFO destinations: MOD page 1 and MOD page 2 run identical one-shot (MODE TRG) unipolar Ramp LFOs on TUN1 and TUN2 so both oscillators rise together (two detuned saws for richness). FLTR starts fully closed with a long ATK and strong positive ENV so it opens in step with the rise. Values are starting points to adjust by ear.

SY RAW's plain Saw gives a bright, harmonically rich core. FLTR PAGE 1 opens over the rise via a long ATK and strong positive ENV depth. Corrected: this LFO used to target an invented 'Pitch' destination — Syntakt's LFO destination list (manual Appendix C) has no direct pitch option, so it now targets the machine's own TUNE knob (parameter 1), the real route to pitch modulation. (For hard one-shot pitch falls Syntakt also has native sweeps: BD MODERN's SWEP sets pitch-sweep depth and time.)
Compared with other synths: LFO PAGE 1 reuses Digitone II's real one-shot-Ramp mechanism (Syntakt's LFO pages share the same parameter set) for the slow, several-octave pitch rise, rather than a manual pitch-bend automation.

EFFECTS
One Mod Envelope 2 (a slow-Attack envelope) drives both the pitch rise, via the Mod Matrix, and the filter opening, via FILTER's own SOURCE set directly to Mod Env 2 -- no separate second envelope needed, since Summit's FILTER section can take either Mod Env as its source instead of the Amp Env. The Mod Matrix routing for pitch isn't fully detailed in this project's reference material yet, so confirm the exact on-screen label against the hardware; the mechanism (a slow-rising envelope into oscillator pitch) is correct.

Osc 1 is BasicWaves with Morph at 50 (pure sawtooth): the Morph knob runs from a square (0) through a sawtooth (50) to a double sawtooth an octave up (100), Sym only changes the pulse width below 50, and Sub adds a sine an octave down (0 here). Mod Matrix: the CycEnv row to the Pitch 1+2 column at +90. Mod Matrix: the CycEnv row to the Cutoff column at +50. The Cycling Envelope (a second, distinct modulation source from the main hardwired-to-VCA Envelope) is the real mechanism for a one-shot rising sweep here -- its Rise stage is routed through the Modulation Matrix to both Pitch and Filter Cutoff at once, so the pitch climb and the filter opening move together exactly as the sibling synths' pitch-envelope-plus-filter-attack combination does. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.

M1's real Envelope mode, with DEST set to CV1 (pitch, in semitones) and LVL scaled directly in semitones per the manual's own CV-scaling note, gives a genuine onboard one-shot pitch rise. LVL 24 is the maximum documented rise (two octaves). The Filter ADSR's own long ATTACK, combined with EG LEVEL turned up on the front panel, opens the filter in step with the pitch climb.

Envelope 2 (pre-wired to the Amp) handles loudness separately.
Compared with other synths: Envelope 1 is pre-wired to Filter 1's cutoff, so its own long ATTACK opens the filter over the rise with no extra Mod Matrix entry needed for that route -- the same Envelope 1 is additionally routed to OSC 1 Pitch via the Mod Matrix, so one envelope drives both the pitch climb and the filter opening together, same as the Summit sibling's shared-envelope approach.
How the synths compare
The mirror image of Sub Drop FX — same pitch-envelope-to-pitch technique, inverted direction and typically longer duration.
