Sounds like: A very short laser-like zap, a quick pitch flick.
A very short, sharp, high-pitched zap — a rapid downward or upward pitch flick with a fast decay, reading as a laser or sci-fi weapon sound effect.
Open this patch in the interactive PatchpadCorrected: the original routed an LFO to a non-existent 'PITCH' destination. Digitone II's FM DRUM machine has a native pitch sweep (STIM = sweep time, SDEP = sweep depth), which is precisely the fast pitch flick a zap needs: short STIM and deep SDEP with a high TUNE give a very fast downward laser fall, with a Square carrier, some feedback/fold and a ratio-3 modulator (MOD (A)) for the bright, edgy body, and a very short body DEC so the whole thing stays inside ~30-60 ms. Parameter values (TUNE/STIM/SDEP scales aren't documented) are starting points to adjust by ear.
SY RAW's plain dual-square waveforms give a bright, edgy carrier with no built-in animation to get in the way of the fast pitch flick. AMP PAGE 2's MODE is left at the AHD default since SUS is 0 here -- sustain never matters for a hit this short. Corrected: this LFO used to target an invented 'Pitch' destination — Syntakt's LFO destination list (manual Appendix C) has no direct pitch option, so it now targets the machine's own TUNE knob (parameter 1), the real route to pitch modulation. (For hard one-shot pitch falls Syntakt also has native sweeps: BD MODERN's SWEP sets pitch-sweep depth and time.)
LFO 2's destination is hardwired to oscillator pitch via its own section's Depth knob -- no Mod Matrix routing needed. Setting it to ONE SHOT with a fast downward Ramp and a large negative Depth turns it into a fast one-shot pitch-fall rather than a repeating cycle, which is exactly what this zap needs.
Osc 1 is BasicWaves with Morph at 50 (pure sawtooth): the Morph knob runs from a square (0) through a sawtooth (50) to a double sawtooth an octave up (100), Sym only changes the pulse width below 50, and Sub adds a sine an octave down (0 here). Mod Matrix: the CycEnv row to the Pitch 1+2 column at -90. The Cycling Envelope in Env mode with a very fast Fall gives a genuine one-shot pitch-fall source, routed to Oscillator Pitch through the Mod Matrix at a large negative amount for the 30-60ms high-to-low flick. The standard ENVELOPE stays hardwired to amplitude (its default) with an instant attack and very short decay so the zap doesn't linger. Values are on MiniFreak's native 0-100 scale.
M1 in Envelope mode with a very fast D/R gives a real one-shot pitch-fall source, routed to CV1 (pitch). Because DEST is a CV/pitch destination, LVL is scaled in semitones rather than the usual 0-100 -- -24 is a full two-octave downward flick, per Typhon's own CV-destination scaling rule.
Envelope 1/2 are pre-wired to Filter 1/Amp, so the pitch-fall envelope has to be one of the free-assign Envelope 3/4/5 slots, routed to pitch through the Mod Matrix -- Envelope 3's decay is matched to Envelope 2's amp decay so the flick and the amp cut happen together. -128 depth is the full negative range; the manual lists Osc Pitch modulation as +/-12 semitones, so this is a one-octave fall at most -- pitch it an octave or two higher, or add Osc SEMI, if you want a longer drop.
Very short, aggressive relative of Sub Drop FX — same pitch-envelope-to-pitch technique, compressed to tens of milliseconds instead of seconds.
