- Kick (T1): an 808 kick sample with a long release: AMP page DEC 100 (up from a typical 60) so it rings; SRC page TUNE pitched per step if you want it to double as the bassline.
- Clap (T2) and rim (T3): both on steps 5 and 9, beats 2 and 3 (the source places the doubled snare/clap on the second and third beats, not 2 and 4); FX page REV 35 on the clap, VEL 70 on the rim.
- Hat-closed (T4): steps 1-3, 5-7, 9-11, 13-14 with the gaps left open at 4, 8, 12, 16 for the jerky feel the sources describe; AMP page DEC 10.
- Perc1 (T6): zap or rimshot on the gaps (steps 4, 8, 12, 16), VEL 55-60, PROB 60.

- Syntakt has only one Analog Cymbal voice (T12), so closed and open hat share it: use `HH BASIC` and lock SYN page DEC short for closed steps and long for open steps. Gaps left at steps 4, 8, 12, 16 (open hat on 8 and 16 with DEC ~ 60).
- Perc1 (T2, PC CARBON): high-tuned zap on steps 4, 8, 12, 16, SYN page DEC 15.
Notes
An 808-based groove at 130 BPM (inside the 130-135 range in the Attack Magazine breakdown): a long-release kick, a layered clap-plus-rim hit on beats 2 and 3, 16th closed hats with deliberate gaps for a jerky feel, and a couple of open hats. Verified against the Attack Magazine breakdown: snare and clap double up on the second and third beats, hats are 16ths with rests, and open hats are sparse. The source does not state kick steps (it says they make sense once the snare is in), so the kick placements (1, 4, 12, 15) are my arrangement, chosen to stay off the beat 2 and 3 hits.
